As of February 1, 2010 Congress has designated the entire month of February,
"National Teen Dating Violence Awareness
&
 Prevention Month"

This is a much needed resolution and is definately a step in the right direction to help our teens save their lives.  So please, go out and tell your teens, they are loved and they are needed!

Also, our organization wants to do a  calendar for 2011 'In Memory of Our Daughters.' This was done by another organization 'Royalty4daniella.org'. Olga, the president, has given her blessings for our organization to do one in 2011. The calendars are beautiful and show beautiful young women who have been victims of violence, tell their story and show the red flags of an abusive relationship. As Olga has said, "Every teen girl should have one in their bedroom"...we agree.  If anyone knows someone who has been murdered by their boyfriend/husband in their precious teen years, and would like their beautiful daugther's story to be told to help other teens, please contact me: notthemaid64@yahoo.com.  All info given will be confidential until given permission to place in the calendar.  Please be assured the info will be in the calendar only, nowhere else. The family members will receive many calendars for participating. Thank you & God Bless.

This is a new website I found, please check this out.  It is done by a young woman who is a survivor of rape.  Very compelling, she is such a brave young woman and we could all learn from her strength.

Past:

The 3rd annual fund raiser spaghetti dinner was a success. As usual, there was great entertainment, plenty of food, drinks, 50/50's, door prizes, raffles & as much fun as the past dinners.
We thank our DJ, Bob Gould's DJ service, bands: One Who Stayed, Skooma & the UE Drumline for their time and energy given for our cause.  We also thank our guest speakers, Tim McMillin and Elsa Rawlings for their heartfelt talks.
Robert Delany, of Binghamton, won the grand prize for the 1 wk stay at The Seaside Beachclub, Pompano Beach, Florida.
Please watch our short video of the UE Drumline who did a wonderful job at the benefit.
God Bless

On November 18, 2009 we had our 3rd annual Teen Violence Awareness & Prevention Day with over 350 students in attendance.  We invited our local Crime Victims Assistance Center to speak and bring their Homicide Wall.  We considered it very informative and a success.  Surveys were completed by the students, nearly every teen said we should continue with this day.

PRESENT

The Lisa M. Tyler Memorial Fund & endingteenviolence.com has joined the MADE Coalition (Moms And Dads for Education of teen dating abuse) to help pass a bill called: Kari Ann Gorman Act, making it mandatory in NYS for middle/high schools to educate students on teen dating violence.
It is of our opinion that this is truly necessary, especially while the students are younger and more impressionable.  Education starts at home but it will also help at school.  They are taught sex education, parental violence, its about time we started w/ relationship violence.
Please join us by joining the MADE Coalition through Liz Claiborne's website: loveisrespect.com/made
